tidal data

the more alined the moon is with the earth and sun the higher the tide will be on that side. you have to know when it is a low or high tide so you will be prepared i would like to go to corpis christi sometime. it changes tides about 5 times a day. i would like to go in a time were it has a low tide so i could see all the shells on the beach.

why do we study oceans

we study oceans because it is good to know if there is going to be something coming. ships study because they need to know which way to go and be the safest. weathermen use it to warn us if there is going to be something coming. huge storms like hurricanes are destuctive and we would need to be prepared for the. it is always good to know how rough the waves are in spots and if it is going to be a high or low tide.

Animals that live on the coast

Sea Turtles live in the water most of the time. When it is time to lay there eggs hey go to shore. they dig holes in the ground and hide the eggs. When he eggs hatch they have to hurry to the ocean so that the sea gulls don't get them. if they make it to the ocean then they now have to look out for crocs. most the time there only hundreds of turtles so they are easily picked up by gulls. The green sea turtles all go to one island there ends up having millions of turtles i one spot laying at the same time so when it comes to hatching it is like a flood of little baby turtles. their predators get confused and overwelmed and don't kill as much.

Wind and current interact

Currents move because of the winds blowing. for the wind to move there are pressure differences. the direction of the flow depends on the direction of the winds.

cohesion adhesion surface tension.

Cohesion is where like molecules stick together. It's caused by its shape and structure. Like in this picture the water is sticking togeter on the mirror.
Adhesion is where diferent molecules stick together. Like in this picture the water is sticking to the paper while it is upside down.
Surface Tensionis a propertyof the surface of the liquid that allows it to resist an exteral forces. also know as the floating of some objects on the top of the water. Like in this pictuere the word cool is "floating" on the water.

Seasonal Seas.

The food chain i am going with starts with phytoplankton which would be the primary producer. The primary consumer would be zooplankton. Fishys eat them as they would be the secondary consumer. After the tertiary wich would be a seal eats the fishy. Then the quaternary eats it and that would be the shark. Then some times we eat the shark. :)

Coral Seas

Shrimp live in sponges. They have one female that produces all the babies. They feed of the sponge as well as never come out of the sponge. The sponge hides them from the outside world. They all have there own jobs like in a bee colony. They have shrimp with pinchers that protect the rest if a predator comes in.
